Working with Many Files (Screencast 1)
We’re going to start covering a very important topic in the next series: Working with Many Files (Screencast 1). I plan on covering a full range of complexity on this topic but the first video is going to cover the dead basics:
- How to list the buffers that are currently known and visible.
- How to switch between buffers.
- How to delete buffers.
That’s it :) We are starting with the basics here folks. Trust me, it will get more interesting.

Hey Derek
I’m really enjoying all the videos. Thank you. I especially enjoy that you aren’t just going over the basics like every other vim tutorial out there.
However, is it just me or is there something wrong with the sound in this video? The sound on all the other videos works fine. Thanks again.

You’re right… damn. That’s disappointing. I’ll have to fix that when I get home. I’m not sure why there’s no sound, but the upload to Vimeo did behave rather strangely so that may have had something to do with it (I had to leave the upload to continue overnight – it was stuck at 98% for over and hour and a half).
Sorry about that. Hopefully it will be fixed by the end of today.
